TRADE links between Newcastle and the birthplace of the Polish Solidarity movement will be strengthened today when the city receives a visit from the Mayor of Gdansk.
Pawel Adamowicz will meet councillors and officials from Newcastle City Council during his one-day visit.
Links between the two cities have grown since representatives of the city council were invited by officials in Warsaw to take part in a trade conference in Gdansk last December.
