PLANS for an electricity sub-station at a waste-to-energy plant are likely to be approved today by Durham County Council.
Ener.G Natural Power aims to generate electricity for the National Grid using gas produced by the St Bede's landfill site, near Ouston, Chester-le-Street.
The company won permission for a gas plant and electricity generation equipment last year.
The sub-station will be linked to the grid via underground cables to overhead power lines near Station Lane, Birtley
