A FLEXIBLE learning scheme which has been successfully attracting students at Northallerton College is offering courses for just £10.
The Government-backed LearnDirect scheme is offering students the chance to take any course they want for just the nominal fee.
The college is one of 250 centres around the country which form part of the UK Online initiative launched by the Government earlier this week. A pilot scheme began in Northallerton in the summer and has since proved a big success. It enrolled its 100th student, Ian Tipton, from Scruton, after just two months.
The courses offer a variety of subjects.
"They all involve computer learning or learning to use computers, with a big demand for customer care and health and safety," said Dr Graham Best, college training services manager.
"It's personalised study, tailored to suit the individual," he said.
