A POLICE chief said the killing of a prostitute would not put others off the trade, as officers continued their investigation yesterday.
Superintendent Graham Strange, of Cleveland Police, said that although the death of Kellie Louise Mallinson served to emphasise the dangers of prostitution, those involved in it chose to ignore them.
"The vice scene is violent and the women involved know the risks," he said.
"I think it will take more than this to influence them."
Kellie's body was found on Sunday morning behind a unit at Middlesbrough's Cannon Park Industrial Estate, where she regularly met clients, sparking a murder inquiry.
Police are scrutinising CCTV footage and forensic evidence from the scene, as well as going through Kellie's diary and checking cash found with the 20-year-old for fingerprints.
The results of tests to confirm how she died are due to be released today
