YOUNG keyboard-tappers and mouse-manipulators have been giving up their Saturday mornings for computer studies.
The youngsters have been attending computer classes and have been presented with certificates to prove their ability.
The children have been attending classes in York run by Whizzkids, a system of teaching youngsters using computers so they can learn at their own pace.
The classes are run by Margaret Middleton at the Monk's Cross shopping centre on the outskirts of the city as well as at her own home in Huntington.
She said the children developed computer literacy skills ranging from arts programmes to spreadsheets and desktop publishing.
