Haydon Bridge are still top of the table despite losing by five wickets to North Tyne. Batting first the leaders realised 140 for nine which included 49 by John Kirkup and for North Tyne Thompson took five for 60.

Replying North Tyne made a good start through opener Craig who scored 65 before being bowled by Robson, but Welton carried his bat for 49.

Hatlwhistle are second but they also lost at home to Allendale who ended on 140 for eight when they made first use of the wicket. Lee scored 44 before being run out and for Haltwhistle Philip Thompson claimed three wickets for 22 runs in eight overs.

Responding Haltwhistle could manage only 111 as Ali Thirwell picked up five wickets for 49 runs in 20 overs five of which were maidens and Swan had five for 60 from 19.4 overs.

Wylam overtook the Stocksfield total of 113 for nine with three wickets in tact when Mowbray top scored with 45. Brown and Costello both took three wickets for Stocksfield who batting first struggled to 113 for nine as Appleby returned four for 65 and Maven four for 34.

The lingering hopes of Humshaugh ended when they went down by four wickets to Matfen. The one-time championship contenders were restricted to 115 for five which included an unbeaten 35 by Martin Parminter while for Matfen Lowes claimed four of the five wickets to fall for 44 runs. When Matfen went in to bat they were indebted to opener Mathers who gave the replay a good send off by scoring 42 before becoming one of the victims of Arnup who finished with three for 15.
