LOCAL historian Michael Richardson will be taking people on a journey into the past next month.
Mr Richardson, of Gilesgate, Durham, will be giving an illustrated talk, called Durham in Old Photographs, at the Parkinson Memorial Methodist Church, Sherburn Village, on Monday, October 2.
Mr Richardson has an archive of thousands of prints of old photographs, chronicling Durham and the surrounding villages over the past 150 years.
Some photographs he will be showing during the talk have never been seen in public before.
The seventh of his popular books of old photographs, Memory Lane Durham City, will be published by Breedon Books next month.
The talk starts at 7pm and will be followed by a broth supper.
Admission costs £1 and proceeds will go to the church funds.
l Next Friday, Mr Richardson is giving a slide show for Shincliffe Community Association, at Shincliffe Church of England Primary School, High Shincliffe, starting at 7.30pm. Admission costs £1, but is free for accompanied children
