THE Durham City Council-run annual garden produce show returned to the Town Hall, its venue of many years, last weekend.
The show had a brief spell at East Durham and Houghall Community College where it formed part of a fun day.
This year there were 514 entries for the 87 classes.
Sherburn Hill's Geoff Curry had a successful show, winning the Joyce Gradon Trophy for the most successful exhibitor.
He also won the Ralph Fleetham Memorial Trophy for the vase of three gladioli class, the John Anderson Memorial Trophy for the most successful exhibitor in the vegetable classes and the Wheatley Ridley Memorial Trophy for his pot leeks.
He was also joint winner of the BBC Radio Newcastle Trophy for leek and onion exhibits with P Holden.
Other winners were: R J Turnbull Cup, J Walker and R Gleason; Arthur Stock Rose Bowl and Derek Hudspeth Challenge Trophy, M L Waite; Jimmy Turnbull Trophy, J Walker; Tom Marsden Challenge Cup, Mrs A Simpson; Laurence Bell Trophy, W Anderson; Jobes Championship Trophy, M Pallister; William Errington Challenge Trophy, K M Fraser; Michael Rochford Challenge Trophy, and George Clarkson Trophy, M Kelsey; Stephen Laverick Trophy, E Million.
