MORE than 40 organisations have now gone online through the Advertiser's easy to use CommuniGate scheme.
Under the CommuniGate scheme, non-profit making groups can promote themselves free on the Internet through the website at: www.thisisthenortheast.co.uk
Darlington Operatic Youth Theatre is the latest group to take advantage of the scheme.
Victoria Paver, whose father Tim founded the youth theatre, designed their home page.
She said: "It's not difficult to do. We're hoping that young people interested in the theatre will want to look at our site, or people who may wish to sponsor us.
"We're also hoping to attract people who want to help backstage with costumes, scenery, or things like that."
Web editor Alison Nicholson said: "We've had so many groups contact us and they range from a women's refuge to a pigeon breeding society."
CommuniGate aims to help non-profit groups raise their profile, promote their own activities and fundraising projects and contact a wider audience via the Internet.
