Marske United 3
Morpeth Town 0
MARSKE United topped the Albany Northern League for the first time after a mid-week victory over Morpeth Town.
United started well and took the load when Neil Hodgson chipped in a free kick.
After 27 minutes Dave Markham scored a superb goal with a shot that flew into the top corner from 25 yards.
Town did their best to get back into the game but John Mohan in the home goal was rarely threatened. A slick move involving Steve Hampton and Mark James set up the third goal for Hodgson to net his second.
Team: Mohan, Knight, Markham, Robson, Kinnair, Hodgson, Neilson, James, Sankey, Hampton, Woods. Subs: Mellon (70), Reeve (72) and Bell (80)
