Durham City 1 Marske United 1
MARSKE United slipped down to second place in the ANL table following a 1-1 draw at Durham City.
United had the better of the early exchanges but City were dangerous when they broke out and deputy goalkeeper Martin Balls made a good save from Di Lella.
The Seasiders eventually took a deserved lead. Sub Simon Kasonali sent Darren Sankey through and he headed past the stranded goalkeeper, Wolfe.
City came out strongly after half time and Balls made a superb save from Alderson from six yards.
United soon regained control with Neilson and Hodgson taking hold of the midfield, but efforts from Woods and Hampton were kept out.
City suddenly broke out to level when Irvine ran 50 yards with the ball before finding the far corner of the net with a great finish.
It was the first goal United had conceded in more than 500 minutes of football this season. The seasiders went all out for the winner, but in the end had to settle for a draw and second place.
