A POLICE team has been presented with patrol cars to give it a greater presence in part of Sunderland.
The panda cars will carry the Ford and Pallion logo to show locals the force is operating in their area.
The Ford and Pallion Community Team was formed to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
The team, made up of five constables and one sergeant, also has plans to patrol the area on mountain bikes.
Chief Inspector Michael Hartnack, of Sunderland west police, said: "The community police team already has a high profile in Ford and Pallion and the cars add to that.
"We want people to know we are in the area."
