Marske U11s Cricket
MARSKE Cricket Club's U11s won an unprecedented league and cup double within a memorable four-day period.
In the Gemara Trophy Knock-out Cup competition for teams in the North Yorkshire and South Durham region, Marske beat Marton at home in the first round and Thornaby away in the second.
Yarm, who hosted the final games, beat Hartlepool in the first semi-final;. Marske beat Nunthorpe by 62 runs in the second.
Yarm, who elected to bat in the final, made 271 for 2 (255 net) with Tom Wyatt top-scoring with 21*.
Tom Graham (9*) and Jack Hugill (8*) got Marske off to a solid start of 24 for 0 off the first 4 overs and Josh Carroll contributed a further 8* to guide the visitors to a winning total of 257 for 0 (257 net) and victory by 2 runs.
Teams started off with 200 runs and had 8 runs deducted for each wicket lost
