Town Juniors
The U-16s maintained their 100 pert cent start to the season and moved to the top of the Russell Foster Premier League with a resounding 9-2 victory at the Riverside against Washington Envelopes. Man of the Match Craig Ellison netted four, with Mark Adamson (3) and Rob Bulch (2) completing the scoring.
By contrast, the U-13s debut in the Russell Foster League ended in a 7-1 home defeat by Brandon with Jamie Gilholme scoring.
The U-15s, promoted to Division One after winning the Second Division Championship, faired no better losing 9-0 at Houghton Juniors. Kieron Loan was the top man for Chester on a day when their squad was decimated by injuries and unavailable players.
The most unusual encounter of the day was the U-17s' match at South Tyneside which saw both sides share the points in a game that featured four penalties. Ryan Drummond (2), Daniel Thomson (3) and Craig Patterson were the scorers.
Byers Green
The U-8s picked up three points in their first competitive games losing out 1-0 to Barnes in a hard fought first game, with Dean Thexton Man of the Match. In the second game however, the lads found their scoring touch in defeating Seaham Red Star 5-2, with goals from Thexton, Callum Blanchard and a hat-trick from Man of the Match Ross Morrow.
The U-9s Haze team got off to a great start beating Pennywell 6-0 in their first game and City Of Durham Midgies 5-1 in the second. Goals came courtesay of Dominic Fish (4), Sam Gleghorn (4), Joseph Bell (2) and Lewis Dunn.
The U-9s Bees lost 3-0 to Fulwell Juniors and 3-1 to Durham County Mosquitos with Aaron Jackson on target for the Bees.
At U-10 level Haze have got their campaign off to a great start with two wins out of two. In the first game Haze defeated Barnes Youth 2-0 with goals from Reece Ellis and DJ Simpson and the clean sheet was ensured with some fine defending from Man of the Match Andrew Stephenson. In the second game Haze won 1-0 against Washington Envelopes with a goal from Man of the Match Ellis.
The Bees also got off to an unbeaten start drawing both games against strong opposition. In the first game they drew 0-0 draw against City of Durham Wasps with Michael Condron being named as Man of the Match. In the second game they drew 2-2 with Fulwell Juniors with Tom Burn on target twice and defender Niall Whittaker picking up the Man of the Match accolade.
Away to Murton Boys, the U-14s claimed a satisfying 2-1 win having been behind at the interval. Ryan Kiteley and substitute Richard Briggs scored the goals.
Anthony Ebdon had a field day for the U-15s in the game with Belford House, scoring all the goals in their 5-0 win.
Blackfyne Juniors
The U-12s team maintained their good start to the season with a comprehensive 9-0 win over Witton Gilbert. Blackfyne's scorers were Robbie Winn with a hat-trick, Thomas Killeen with two while Dan Nichol, Andrew Quinn, Ellis Green and Man of the Match Shaun Donaghy all scoring one each.
The U-17s took part in a brillinat game in which the score changed three times in the last four minutes but lost out by the odd-goal in seven to local rivals Lanchester.
Chris Page with two and Paul Haggan were the scorers while Mark Tilney was Man of the Match.
Willington
The U-8s enjoyed two good home wins in the Russell Foster seven-a-side league beating Lambton Street Wasps 5-0 and Easington District Rangers 10-0 with Jordan Roberts getting a hat-trick in both games.
Jack Davidson and Craig Elliott got the other goals against Lambton Street with Marcus Maddison netting four against Easington, William Hunter netting two and Davidson the other.
Willington U-10s also had a double victory in their short sided games beating Redby CA Blues 2-0 and City of Durham Wasps 2-0. Man of the Match Jonathan Barnes scored both against Redby while debut players Adam Blair and Wayne Walker were on target against Durham Wasps with Barry Shields being awarded Man of the Match.
Willington U-11s lost 4-1 at home to Nissan in the 11-a-side Russell Foster League after taking the lead through Glen Newton and Stephen Proud was given the Man of the Match accolade.
The U-12s lost 6-3 away to Jarrow St Bedes with David Dowson, Ryan Young and Lewis Hope scoring and Adam Combie Man of the Match.
Willington U-13s lost 3-2 away to Pennywell with Nicholas Hayton and Thomas Copping scoring while the Man of the Match award was shared between Jonathan Archer and Peter Garrett.
The U-14s bounced back from a 7-2 drubbing in their previous result when they won 5-1 away to Redby with David Jackson scoring a hat-trick. Liam Howe and Martin Hopps got the other goals with Ryan Emsley winning the Man of the Match for the second week running.
Willington U-15s won 5-0 at home to Seaham Parkside with Terry Garside (2), Neil Clark, John Close and Michael Burn scoring.
Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre
Ithe Teesside Junior Alliance League the U-10s A team hammered visitors Billingham Town B 6-1 with Sean Lowe scoring four while Sam Wild and David Thorne added the others.
The B team narrowly lost by the odd goal in three at Ferryhill Town Boys with Man of the Match C Gaffney netting.
At U-12 level Newton Aycliffe were beaten 4-0 by Norton & Stockton where Man of the Match was awarded to D Hopps.
The U-14s lost 4-2 at home to Leven with Liam Cooper and David Turgoose netting while the U-15s team were defeated 4-1 by visitors Spraire lads with Chris Mason scoring.
Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League
Consett recovered from a 2-1 interval deficit to defeat Dunston Fed 3-2 with Mark Shaw bagging a brace and Darren Pike also scoring after Paul Lennon had twice struck for Dunston Fed.
Percy Main and Cleveland Hall were engaged in a 4-4 thriller where the home side went ahead with first half strikes by Richard May and Andrew Osborne but Cleveland had the better of the second half and hit-back through Andy Colwell, Eddie Burns, Ian Mulholland and David Donnelly. Chris Doig and an own goal earned Percy Main a share of the points.
New Hartley visited South Moor and won 2-1 with Richard Garston and Kevin Gustard netting for the victors while Johnny Quinn scored the home side's goal.
Tow Law crashed to a 7-0 defeat at home to West Denton for whom Damian Anderson scored five times and Andrew Hutchinson twice.
Redheugh also scored seven goals visiting Wideopen who responded once through Craig Henderson. Michael Huggin netted on five occasion and Ian Chambers twice for the Reds.
Following a goalless first half Newcastle East End and Walker Central ended their game 2-2. Paul Blake and Gavin Wood accounted for East End's goals while Jason Bates and James Scott replied for Walker Central.
New County North
Durham Youth League
A hat-trick by John Lister was the feature of Consett's 6-2 victory over Waldridge Park in the U-16 League Division A. Redheugh won 4-2 at Stocksfield and Felling defeated Sandhole 5-2 when Chris Simpson and Daniel Graham both scored twice.
Craig Naylor was another player to find the net on two occasions in Cleveland Hall's 3-2 victory at Hebburn Clegwell.
In B Division Chris Howell bagged a brace of goals in Chopwell's 4-2 success against Blackfyne and a hat-trick by Carl Phillips was the feature of Haydon Bridge's 5-2 victory at Usworth.
David Lucas (4) and Stephen Gardner (2) were the marksmen as Wardley hit Grange Villa 6-0 while in the U-17 division Mark Turner scored both goals in Consett's 2-1 win at Chopwell.
Ben Howell was in superb scoring form for Dunston Fed in their game with Derwent Valley. His five goals feat was the feature of his team's 8-1 victory.
Philip Bell (2), David Pick (2), David Tait and Paul Brown all netted for South Tyneside who were held to a 6-6 draw with Chester-le-Street Town while Sandhole won 3-1 at Felling and Lanchester saw off the challenge of Blackfyne despite Chris Page grabbing a couple of goals for the losers.
Hetton Youth League
Lumley easily progressed into the second round of the League Cup defeating Springboard 9-2. After establishing a 4-1 interval lead Darren Henderson finished off the scoring with five goals to his credit while Ryan Drummond bagged a brace and other Lumley players on target were Shaun Pearson and Stephen Jenkins. Craig Chapman and David Whittle scored Springboard's goals.
In the league Herrington maintained their 100 per cent record with a 4-1 victory at home to Washington Dunlop with Stephen Copeland (2), Ian McGilvray and Paul Douglass on target while Dunlop's only goal was scored by Gary McCaffney.
Witton Gilbert, who only joined the league this season, celebrated their first win when they defeated Ryhope 2-0 with Geoff Hepple scoring both goals
