A WALK along one of east Durham's most picturesque trails promises a glimpse of history.
The four-mile autumn walk along a trail skirting Blackhall Rocks and Crimdon is being held on Tuesday, starting at 6.30pm.
Organised and led by Simon Nott, the community liaison officer for the Turning the Tide project, it will largely follow a coastal footpath, providing breathtaking views of newly- cleaned beaches.
It will provide walkers with the opportunity to peep into the past, as the route will take in Crimdon, which was one of the most popular resorts for trippers after the First World War.
Those wishing to take part should meet at the Blackhall Rocks car park, and are advised to wear suitable footwear.
