A COMMUNITY centre looked more like a Wild West saloon when residents took to the floor for a celebration dance.
Families living in Hemlington, near Middlesbrough, gathered at The Oaks Community Centre for a millennium party.
Regulars at the 22-year-old centre gave the revellers a treat by donning cowboy boots and stetsons for a line dancing display.
The event, which also included a presentation to the longest-serving residents, featured music from the 1930s and 40s, and a wine and cheese buffet, was organised by the B&N Housing Association, which manages nearby properties.
Silvana Ferrigno, the group's acting regional manager, said: "We were delighted that they chose to mark its 22nd anniversary with a millennium party."
