YOUNGSTERS are being urged to stand for election to represent young people's ideas and help shape the future of their town.
The South Bank Community Forum is looking for teenagers under the age of 18 to stand as a representative.
The representative is a non-voting member of the executive committee of the forum, which provides an opportunity for young people's views on community issues to be included in decision-making.
Forum board director George Punshon said: "Every youngster who becomes involved brings a lot of personal wisdom and experience that they will contribute to strategic policy decisions of the forum.
"Although many young person representatives are involved in other community groups, when they sit as representatives of the South Bank Community Forum they act as individuals for the good of the community as a whole."
To be eligible for election, candidates must be a South Bank resident or the designated representative of a member organisation. They must also be under 18 at the date of election.
Nomination forms are available from the forum on (01642) 296000 and must be returned by Wednesday, September 25.
The elections will take place at the annual meeting, on Wednesday, October 4, at the Generation Centre, Normanby Road, South Bank, at 7pm.
