THE emphasis was on having a good time when the Toc H movement continued the celebrations for its 85th anniversary at the weekend.
The organisation took over the Big Sheep and Little Cow Farm, Bedale, North Yorkshire, for a family fun day.
Attractions included steam rides, courtesy of the Wensleydale Railway Association, and music and games with the Fresh AM Radio Roadshow. On top of all the usual attractions at the farm's visitor centre, there were also children's activity workshops and charity stalls.
"It partly celebrates our 85th anniversary, but also shows people that Toc H today is about people of all ages having fun together," said the movement's local development officer, John Dunwell.
Toc H was founded in 1915 during the carnage of the First World War at Talbot House, in Poperinge, Belgium. Set up to offer soldiers refuge from the horrors of the trenches, the spirit of peace and reconciliation it fostered was recreated when the soldiers returned to the UK
