POLICE have made another appeal for witnesses following an attack on an elderly woman in the centre of Bishop Auckland on Thursday night.
Police questioned three teenage girls following the incident, which started at 9.25pm in the pedestrianised area between McDonald's and the Marks & Spencer store, and continued near traffic lights further along Newgate Street.
Two of the girls have been released on police bail while detectives make more inquiries. No action is to be taken against the third.
