SCHOOL pupils and staff at a County Durham school marked a unique year by gathering for a special snapshot, courtesy of The Northern Echo.
More than a hundred pupils were joined by staff at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School, in Coundon, near Bishop Auckland, for a photograph to commemorate the turn of the new millennium.
Their picture will take pride of place alongside dozens of other school photographs which have been taken throughout the years.
Headteacher Stefa McManners said the snapshot would be an excellent way to remind future pupils and staff of how pupils and staff looked in the year 2000.
She said: "I have been here since 1982 and I have seen plenty of pupils and staff come and go, but it is always a joy to see them in later years.
"This special millennium picture will hang alongside previous school pictures and is a great way to mark a momentous occasion."
The photograph is just one of several ways the school has marked the millennium.
