TEXTILE students are calling on Indian, Egyptian and Japanese influences as part of an exhibition leading up to the opening celebrations of Durham City's Oriental Museum.
The museum, off South Road, is due to re-open next month following a summer of major renovations and reorganisation of its collections.
Degree students from Cleveland College of Art and Design have created colourful textiles based on the idea of modern ethnic revival styles.
With the emphasis on furnishing fabrics, the exhibition will run at the museum alongside work by pupils at Spennymoor School, beginning on October 3.
A college spokesman said: "Both organisations are looking forward to strengthening their relationship through various events such as workshops, exhibitions and work experience placements.
