FOUR North-East students will be the talk of the school yard when they sport some natty silver space-style puffer jackets after winning them in an interactive cable TV competition.
Emma Sargeant, Simon Reader, Kirsty McEachin and Wesley MacCabe, all aged 14, of Emmanuel College, Gateshead, claimed the jackets after winning a treasure hunt to find information from the Telewest Arena's new interactive TV service, due to be launched later this year.
Telewest's public relations executive Judy Stirling said: "The competition gave us a chance to carry out a small survey to see what teenagers would be most likely to buy using interactive cable television.
"Top answers were - unsurprisingly - clothes, CDs and computer games, but unusual items such as lava lamps and toasters also featured among the youngsters' wish lists.
