A STRETCH of Redcar beach received a good clean-up at the weekend as part of the nationwide Beachwatch 2000 litter pick up.
A team of volunteers led by the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, removed all the litter from the beach and recorded what they found.
A total of 1,077 items of rubbish - mostly plastic - were retrieved from Redcar beach.
And down the road in Saltburn another team cleared up the beach there as well.
The results of all the beach cleans are to be passed to the Marine Conservation Society which will publish a report of its findings in February.
