A SCHOOL which won The Northern Echo's Hymn for the Millennium competition has received a further accolade.
Dodmire Infant School, in Darlington, was yesterday presented with a certificate of achievement from the Butterwick Children's Hospice.
The Hymn for the Millennium was a competition organised by The Northern Echo, Darlington Civic Theatre and All Saints' Church in Hurworth.
Dodmire school beat off competition from other schools to win the prize, with their rendering of their hymn 2000.
The evening raised £2,500 for the Butterwick Children's Hospice and the hospice bosses decided to show their appreciation by presenting a certificate to the school.
