A TEENAGE sponsored runner has raised £650 to help sufferers of a devastating disease which affects her little sister.
Sarah Yarrow, aged 14, completed the five-mile Dalton Dash, held at the village of Dalton, near Richmond. She spent weeks collecting sponsorship pledges from friends and family in a bid to help research into the disease from which her four-year-old sister, Sophie, suffers.
Sarah, of Gayles Hall Farm, Gayles, took part in the same run two years ago to raise cash for the charity. Mrs Cathy Stanwix, the girls' mother, said: "Sarah isn't a regular runner but she worked really hard collecting all the sponsors and finishing the run. She made a huge effort to help the charity and it was a tremendous achievement for her."
Sophie receives treatment at the Friarage hospital, Northallerton.
