FIFTY years of motoring history went on display when a North-East museum hosted the region's biggest gathering of classic cars.
About 200 vehicles produced between 1920 and 1970 were the star attractions at Beamish Museum, near Stanley, County Durham, yesterday.
The Classic Car Day was organised by the North-East Club for Pre-War Austins, which, despite its name, is for classic cars of all makes.
The models on display included Austins, Daimlers, Fords and Rileys. More modern vehicles included Ford's Cortina and Zodiac, the Victor and Cresta by Vauxhall and the Triumph Roadster.
Owners came from the North-East, Yorkshire, Cumbria and Scotland for the event
