CLEVELAND Fire Authority may approve a new letterhead design, costing more than five times the existing one.
At a meeting on Friday, the authority is expected to approve a letterhead for the fire brigade incorporating its recent Charter Mark and Investors in People award.
The current stationery is produced in-house at a cost of about £100 for 20,000 sheets, while the proposed letterhead would cost about £540 for the same number.
In a report to the authority, Chief Fire Officer John Doyle said he hoped to finance the extra cost with money saved by increased use of in-house printing.
He said: "With the acquisition of the Charter Mark, Cleveland Fire Authority has set high standards in both its dealings with other organisations and the service provided to the public of Cleveland.
"It is, therefore, wholly appropriate that its correspondence reflects that standard, and I believe this proposal provides a cost-effective method of achieving this aim."
If the brigade's new letterhead is approved it is hoped the fire authority's stationery would also be changed.
