LOCAL people will show off their work as part of two projects on the theme of pride at a special exhibition.

Earlier this year, Middlesbrough Borough Council's Arts Development Team arranged for a group of talented youngsters to work with theatre group Jack Drum Arts to create a performance work called Pride.

The show, which is based on young people's pride regarding their own achievements, families, relationships and environments, was premiered on BBC Music Live Day in May and has toured community venues throughout the summer.

Running parallel to this, photographer Karen Melvin has been working with community groups to create striking images of their own ideas of pride, which will be exhibited at various venues in Middlesbrough.

The two projects will come together on Friday at Middlesbrough's Southlands Centre when the Pride is performed for the last time and the photographic exhibition launches its community tour.
