A ROCK concert, which pulled in crowds of about 200 people, took a Richmond teenager closer to a trip of a lifetime to Belize.
Eighteen-year-old Alice Lawson has been selected for an expedition to the Central American colony with Raleigh International in March. But, first, she faces the task of raising £3,500 to cover the costs.
Alison had already raised £800 by selling artwork and jewellery she makes herself, but Saturday's T On The Field proved a real money-spinner, bringing in a total of £700.
Alice said she was thrilled that her idea was so well-received, not just by the town's youngsters but by an audience of all ages.
Although she is close to the half-way mark, there is still another £2,000 to raise.
She said: "I'm really hoping for sponsorship now. The more local companies I can find willing to help me the better.''
All the young adventurers chosen for the expedition will be involved in community work as well as environmental and scientific research in the jungle and along the coastline of Belize.
Anyone who may be able to help Alice can contact her on (01748) 822526.
