A COUNTY Durham museum is to hold a family learning day as part of a national scheme to recognise the role of parents in their child's education.
Beamish Museum, near Chester-le-Street, has set up a range of free activities to coincide with the project launched by Campaign for Learning.
The event will include a series of craft workshops at the miner's cottage and a popular musical production by folk musicians Bob Fox and Benny Graham in the town's Roland Cookson room, entitled How Are You Off For Coals?
Other activities include story telling with Sharon Jacksties, in the Great Engine Shed at the 1825 railway, and family fun trails and competitions.
For more information on the learning day, on Sunday, October 8, contact Beamish Museum on (01207) 231811.
