A MAN appeared before Teesside Crown Court yesterday to appeal against a conviction for harassment of his former girlfriend.
John Hill was convicted by magistrates on Teesside in July of harassment of Angela Purdy.
Nick Robson, prosecuting, told the court the couple's relationship had ended last year, and in August, Hill, 59, of Beacons Hill Lane, Barley Fields, Stockton, struck Ms Purdy in the face.
He is also also alleged to have stared through and banged on a window at her home, been abusive to her, made telephone calls to Ms Purdy in the early hours of the morning and visited her house and threatened her, said Mr Robson.
Hill had denied the allegations to police.
