POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an accident which left a woman with a fractured breast bone.
The 52-year-old woman was driving her Rover 414 in Cockhouse Lane, Ushaw Moor, Durham City, when the car was in colllision with a Vauxhall Corsa, at 8am, yesterday.
Police said that the Corsa swerved into the Rover's path to avoid an unidentified vehicle which pulled out in front of it.
The woman, from Durham City, was freed from her car by firefighters and taken to Dryburn Hospital, from where was expected to be released last night.
The 23-year-old male Corsa driver, of Stanley Crook, suffered minor bruising and declined treatment.
The road was closed until 9.45am.
Durham police would like to trace the unidentified vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call 0191-386 4929
