A UNIQUE networking event organised for businesswomen from the Tees Valley area was hailed a success by all who attended.

Organised by Barclays Bank Tees Valley Small Business team, the event was held in Enron's Phoenix Conference Centre at Wilton International on Tuesday evening.

Designed to ensure that local businesses receive all the help and information needed to make their venture a success.

The programme included a site tour of the Wilton complex, followed by a chance to renew acquaintances, meet new people and to create new business opportunities.

"It was a good, interesting and informative event in a very usual venue," said Ann Burton of Access Training.

The event saw specialists in the line of personal development from companies such as ClickHere training and 7Point Computer Services with the expertise of people from Clive Owen Chartered Accountants.

It including a lifestyle presentation that introduced the changing image of businesswomen today using the skills of a make-up artist and colour consultant.

Organiser Julie Jones from Barclays Bank said it was the first event the bank had held "on such a wide scale."

She added: "I am very pleased with how the event went and I hope it provided opportunities for businesses in the Tees Valley area."

The next seminar is the Under 30s Networking Event, which is held tonight, at Cellnet Riverside Satdium in Middlesbrough. It runs from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
