CHILDREN from Prime Minister Tony Blair's constituency rubbed shoulders with top politicians at the Labour Party conference this week.

Pupils from St William's RC School, Trimdon, and Sedgefield Community College, also listened to Mr Blair's keynote speech in Brighton.

The trip was the result of a series of visits by John Pettigrew, from Eastbourne, who ran a number of classes for children in music software at Trimdon Community College.

A core group of youngsters kept on working with him and as a result, sponsors BT arranged for them to go down and visit the school in Eastbourne which they had been chatting with over the net.

On top of this they arranged a visit to the conference, where they helped to demonstrate software on the BT stand. They then moved on to the Millennium Dome yesterday
