HIGH-class country and city outfitters Cordings, which made the character Turkish's coat for the gangster film Snatch, is aiming to raise £1.5m to expand outside its London base.
The 161-year-old group, which makes hunting, shooting and fishing clothes, in addition to classic jackets and coats, has written to around 7,000 of its customers, offering them the chance to buy shares.
It aims to use the money to grow from its present two shops its Cordings store in Piccadilly and its shirtmaker and tailor Hawes & Curtis in Jermyn Street.
Managing director Rosalind Christie said the company was considering expanding into areas including Gloucestershire, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Scotland and the City of London, and aimed to open its first new store next year.
The expansion could see customers around the country get their hands on clothing such as Cordings famous elegant "covert" overcoats, as modelled by Turkish and Tommy in Guy Ritchie's hit movie Snatch
