Christopher Hogg is about to get his chance to impress on the international stage when the England U-15s take on Northern Ireland in Belfast next month.

He has been plucked from 50 hopefuls who attended a training session in August but only 20 were adjudged to be good enough to travel to Northern Ireland for the game which will be played at Windsor Park.

"I went for the t ould all get a letter in the next week or two. I was quite pleased when I got in.

His debut for England will be screened live by Sky Sports but Christopher shouldn't be fazed by being in the spotlight, as the England training session was filmed, presumably for the benefit of the selectors.

"There were video cameras there filming us, they must have watched them afterwards" said the 6ft tall central defender.

"Normally I'm quite nervous when I'm doing something but I wasn't. I was quite surprised , I went down there and I was confident.

"They worked us hard all of the weekend."

Christopher's international debut takes place on Friday, October 20.
