FUNDRAISERS ran rings around a church - well, almost.
A plan to encircle the inside of Guisborough Parish Church with coins fell just 6ft short.
When added up, the coins totalled £194. St Nicholas's Church has still a long way to go to reach its £30,000 target, the cost of rewiring the building and buying new lights.
Ken Brookfield, secretary of the parochial church council, said: "It was just two metres short of going all the way round the inside. The line was 80 metres long.
"There were a lot of bronze coins, but it was a good effort and we are delighted."
