AN embroiderers' guild celebrated its 21st birthday over the weekend.
Darlington Embroiderers' Guild held a celebration day "Stitching Up 21 Years" which included achievements, recollections and the presentation of Darlington 2000, A Celebration in Stitches.
A Celebration in Stitches is a work of seven panels, created to illustrate the town and community of Darlington.
Each panel takes as its theme a different aspect of life in the town today such as architecture, transport, religion, markets, tourism and leisure, industry and commerce.
It was handed over to the Mayor of Darlington, Councillor Dorothy Long.
The event was held on Saturday at the Liddiard Theatre at Polam Hall School in Darlington. There was also a talk by Maggie and Clive Grey.
Visitors were also able to enjoy a lightening tour of goldwork through the ages as well as contemporary ecclesiastical and sumptuous goodies from leading.
