A PLANNED one-way traffic system to serve a supermarket is expected to be given the go-ahead, despite protests from residents.
Objectors have written to North Yorkshire County Council to express their fears over the extra traffic which would use narrow roads in the Wycar area of Bedale to reach a proposed Quality Fayre store on derelict land behind Market Court.
Customers, together with staff and delivery vans, would use the one-way system planned for two minor roads in Wycar, but 119 local people have signed petitions against the development.
However, North Yorkshire's environmental services director, Mike Moore, is recommending county councillors to approve the scheme
