ONE of the region's NHS trusts is continuing to meet its targets despite an increasing workload.
Between April and August this year, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust saw a big rise in the number of referrals by GPs and in the number of emergency admissions.
During the period, the trust treated 10,996 patients waiting to be admitted to hospital or as day care patients, compared with 10,827 last year. The trust also treated more patients admitted as emergencies - 19,653 this year as opposed to 18,738 last year.
At the end of August no one was waiting more than 12 months to be admitted to hospital or as a day case.
