ONE of the area's beauty spots is to be the venue for an expedition with a difference.
The event, in Kielder Forest, Northumberland, on Saturday, October 14, has been organised to allow owners of four-wheel drive vehicles the chance to sample the 155,000-acre reserve.
Devised by the Forestry Commission, the outing will allow those taking part to use Kielder's 550-mile remote logging road network, which is normally closed to the public.
Rangers will lead the convoy on a six-hour drive, culminating with a stop-off at the summit of Dead Water Fell.
Anyone interested in taking part should telephone (01434) 250209
