SAFETY expertise which established Nutec as the chosen training provider for personnel working in some of the world's harshest environments, is winning it a growing army of new customers.
Nutec's Centre for Safety at Teesside, which two years ago was used almost exclusively for training offshore and maritime workers, is today fast becoming a regional centre of excellence for onshore industrial safety training.
The centre's courses in first aid, fire safety, working in confined space, crisis management and preparation for achieving the industrial safety passport are currently very popular.
Nutec training manager Bill Whyman said: "On-shore courses provide staff from a cross-section of workplaces with the skills to function properly when safety is at stake, be that personal or property.
"Nutec's traditional market has been offshore, maritime and military, where personnel don't get a second chance and training has to be thorough and effective."
Training courses use specialised training equipment, some of which is unique to Nutec, including the Mobile Industrial Rescue Trainer (MIRT), the UK's only training simulator specifically designed for confined space entry and rescue.
