PUPILS who made special efforts in academic, personal and community activities were rewarded at a ceremony at Richmond School.
A total of 77 students received governors' commendations for their achievements over the past year.
It is the second such ceremony, and it is is now to be an annual event.
More than 350 relatives packed the hall for the presentation evening, when certificates were handed out by the chairman of the governors, Pam Cross.
"The governors' commendations recognise special effort across the board, from children who have shown a lot of application and progress in school to those who have perhaps been involved in community or other activities," said Jim Jack, headteacher.
The presentations were followed by a buffet supper for guests
