DARLINGTON is bracing itself for a foreign invasion in the next couple of weeks.
On Thursday, October 19, pupils from Hummersknott School will be sent into the town centre as part of a special languages day.
The youngsters will have to listen to a tape guiding them around the town and answer questions in French and German.
They will then have to visit various stores and businesses, and complete a task in both languages.
And to ensure the task is completed, staff from Hummersknott will be 'planted' in all the venues.
The day will end with the children being taken back to school, where they will be treated to a foreign buffet.
