A POLICE search revealed drugs with a street value of between £1,350 and £2,700 in a woman's house, a court heard yesterday.
Linda Speight pointed out a handbag in a bedroom of her home when officers asked her if there were any drugs in the house.
Mrs Speight, 40, of Cheriton Green, Pallister Park, Middlesbrough, appeared before Teesside Crown Court charged with possession of amphetamine with intent to supply. She denies the charge.
Shaun Dodds, prosecuting, said police executed a search warrant in April at Mrs Speight's home. White powder in plastic bags was found, which turned out to be amphetamine.
Mr Dodds said the quantity would have had a street value of between £1,350 and £2,700.
When Mrs Speight was interviewed by the police she said that the drugs were hers.
Mr Dodds said: "The prosecution submit that the value and quantity of the drugs involved and the large quantity of self-sealed bags will lead you to the irresistible conclusion that this drug was not for her own use, but was to be passed on to another, or others, for financial gain."
The case continues.
