THREE hundred bus drivers will stage a one-day strike today over pay.
The drivers, who work for Go Gateshead, have rejected a four per cent rise offered by directors who awarded themselves increases of up to 17 per cent.
Routes throughout the borough will be affected, as will those that run from Gateshead into neighbouring areas.
Go Northern, which operates most of the buses in Derwentside and Chester-le-Street, County Durham, will run normally.
The company's drivers called off a planned series of Friday stoppages after accepting a 3.8 per cent pay rise last week
