A goal from Peter Martin five minutes into stoppage time gave Tow Law a 2-1 win at Morpeth on Tuesday night.
Morpeth took the lead after seven minutes through Tim Wilson after a Stuart Douglas shot had been blocked, and Tow Law eventually equalised through Nigel Bolton in a goalmouth scramble.
After Morpeth's Lee Collings was dismissed for swearing after 77 minutes, Martin got the winner from Keith Moorhead's cross deep into stoppage time.
Peterlee had a 2-1 win at Whitley Bay. They took the lead after seven minutes when Brian Fairhurst scored from the spot after Karl Muir handled, then Karl White made it 2-0 from 25 yards after 25 minutes. Marc Nash pulled a goal back from the spot after a Gary Middleton shot was handled.
Newcastle Blue Star had a good 4-0 home win over Brandon. Andy Hurst, Mark Brett and Ross Greenhill scored for them in the first half, with Paul Hollier adding a fourth near the end.
Dunston were held to their second successive goalless draw, at Guisborough. In a match spoilt by a strong wind, Matt Coddington in the Guisborough goal pulled off a couple of good saves.
On Wednesday night, Consett beat Billingahm Synthonia 3-1.
Tony Halliday put Consett ahead with a shot from the edge of the box after 15 minutes,Ian Swann added a second after 33 minutes when he fired through the keeper's legs. Trevor Laidler scored from the spot after Halliday was brought down for the third after 78 minutes, before Andy Ripley pulled a late goal back for Synners.
Northallerton ran riot with a 9-1 win at bottom club Eppleton, who had a man sent off for an off the ball incident when the score was 6-1.
Andy Brown put Northallerton into an early lead, but Eppleton were still in the game until the visitors scored three times in three minutes before half time, through Andy Thompson, Richard Booth and Paul Combellack, who added another just after the break.
Trevor Laidler pulled one back after 51 minutes, but Booth quickly got another before Robbie Dunbar was sent off. Combellack added two more, with Booth and Paul Gredziak getting the others.
Thornaby moved joint top with Ashington after they beat South Shields 2-1.
Shaun Howes gave them the lead after 28 minutes, with Kevin Newall getting the second after 80 minutes, Steve Johnson pulled a late goal back for Shields.
FA Cup
Billingham Town scored three times in the first half to earn a place in the third qualifying round .
They beat Bridlington Town 3-1 in a replay and now play at UniBond League side Stalybridge Celtic.
Billingham got off to a perfect start, James Chapman scoring from an acute angle in the opening minute, with Lee Tucker getting another after 12 minutes.
Robbie Hutchinson scored the best goal of the game for Billingham's third, timing a run for a through pass to perfection five minutes before half time.
Bridlington scored a consolation in the second half.
However, Durham City lost 4-2 at Accrington Stanley. They were ahead 2-1 at one stage with two goals from Michael Canavan, but conceded two goals within five minutes at the start of the second half. Durham were caught on the break for the fourth in the closing stages.
Marske United lost 2-0 in a replay at home to Bamber Bridge.
Durham Challenge Cup
Horden caused a shock in the first qualifying round of the Durham Challenge Cup when they beat Jarrow Roofing on penalties, after the two sides drew 1-1 after extra time.
Esh Winning came from behind to beat Whickham 3-1. The visitors took the lead with a Wilson penalty, but Esh levelled when Mark Drake scored from a Robbie Wright cross, then he got the second from an Anthony Cosgrove pass. Cosgrove made sure a minute from the end.
Easington squeezed through against Washington on Wednesday night, winning 1-0 in extra time thanks to a goal from Christian Robson.
Shildon came from behind to win 6-2 at Evenwood. Craig Swainston put Shildon ahead in the 13th minute, with Andrew Patterson and then Stuart Murray putting Evenwood ahead by the 49th minute. Shildon got back into the game with a disputed penalty from Les Langley after 64 minutes, then Swainston added another from close range three minutes later. Langley got two more to complete his hat trick, with Doug Grant chipping in with another.
Crook Town beat Murton 1-0, thanks to a 72nd minute goal from Neil Burn.
There are several games tonight because of the England v Germany game tomorrow.
