PUPILS and teachers at a North-West Durham school will be donning their jeans in aid of genes day today.
Staff at Stanley School of Technology are organising the day to raise money to fund research into genetic disorders affecting children, and provide support services for families.
Each of the teachers and pupils will donate £1 to the cause, and they are appealing for members of the public to join in and wear jeans on the day.
Headteacher David Grigg said: "We are delighted to be supporting this year's Jeans for Genes Day which will help develop effective treatments for thousands of children with genetic disorders across the UK.
"It is so simple to organise and lots of fun - both staff and students really enjoy wearing their jeans.
"Anybody can participate, and I hope everyone in Stanley will join us by wearing their jeans and giving just £1 on the day."
