PUPILS at a school near Bishop Auckland are appealing for volunteers to help them create a quiet haven.
Children at Parkside Comprehensive School, Willington, want to develop a quiet garden.
Julie Mountain, from Durham County Council, gave a talk on various schemes with which she had been involved.
To develop the project the children are looking for volunteers to help them. Metal work sculptor Graeme Hopper has already helped pupils create a wall sculpture to mark the dedication of former head teacher Jim Jewell.
