POLICE forces across the country are hunting a knifeman who attacked a man causing him severe stomach wounds.
The attacker struck at 10pm on Wednesday, in Derwent Street, Hartlepool.
His victim, a 33-year-old man who has not been named, was rushed to Hartlepool General Hospital.
He received surgery and was subsequently admitted to a ward.
Such were the extent of his injuries, that he is expected to be detained for a week.
Police believe his attacker is a 25-year-old man who has gone into hiding.
They have released a description of him to police forces all over Britain.
He is described as 5ft 7in, with ginger or strawberry blond hair, and of slim build.
Members of the public are being warned not to approach him.
